The Incentive Horizon
Forecasts for progressive improvement in the supply chain are leading to a hopeful horizon for new incentives from the OEM’s
Hot off of the run of factory incentives for President’s Day Promotions, the outlook for new incentives is bright.
“Our expectation now is that with this supply and demand equation moderating in 2023, based on product line, based on OEM, we’re going to see additional support that we haven’t seen the last couple of years [in] overall incentives, rebates, etc., that’ll help us moderate the impact that we feel in 2023,” Chris Holzshu, Lithia COO
Supply is still well below pre-pandemic levels, especially for luxury brands, and even the public dealership groups have significant ground to make up before they will be back to what had been considered normal. However, the hope is that the general improvement in outlook and illumination of the horizon ahead should be encouraging enough to the OEM’s to give them the confidence to empower dealers with incentives at pre pandemic levels.
